The Monterrey International Film Festival, in collaboration with the Fondo Ambiental  Metropolitano de Monterrey and Arca Continental, opened this Tuesday its call for entries for its first short film ‘Environmental Action’ contest, the first in its type in the state of Nuevo León.

As part of the Festival’s next edition, which will take place on August 19-26, 2021, Juan Manuel González, Festival Director; Janeth Aguirre, Executive Director; and Rodrigo Crespo, Director of Fondo Ambiental Metropolitano de Monterrey, A.C., pointed out to the great benefit this alliance can provide for the environment, particularly during the next Festival’s edition, to promote a water management culture.

To this end, Crespo underscored the great platform offered by cultural activities and the arts to encourage care for this vital resource.

“At FAMM, we are convinced that we can promote education, culture, and art as instruments to develop a water culture,” said Crespo, highlighting the natural alliance between the Film Festival and the organization he leads.

He concluded by inviting to participate in the contest, and the submission bases were explained by the Monterrey International Film Festival’s Executive Director.

Finally, Juan Manuel González, the Director of ficmonterrey, explained that this alliance offers, through the contestants’ diverse vision, an opportunity to communicate and open a dialogue on how to care for and improve our environment.
